Local's Week 2017
Another season means another Local’s Week.
As a refresher, Local’s Week is when the team unites for the first time as a whole and spends the first few days before pre-season together at local Cedar Rapidians’ houses.
Due to our Costa Rica trip, Local’s Week was cut down to only two days this year, but we managed to squeeze in a plethora of bonding- I can already tell this group is going to be one of the most unison and tight-knit of the program’s history (bold statement, I know).
Some of our adventures entail exploring Coe’s new fitness center and gym, bonding games and a cookout at Jordan’s, a pool party at Erica’s, our annual fancy dinner where we all dress up and look like girls for once, and an ice cream date.
I absolutely love Local’s Week because it is the first time we are all together under one roof and I, as an upperclassmen, absolutely cherish being able to watch all of the newbies adapt to their brand new surroundings and teammates. It is so much fun to observe the freshmen dive into college and all things student athlete.
After just a few short days together, I am excited to see how our team bond progresses throughout the season! If our team chemistry is anything close to how impeccable I think it is after only a week, then I truly believe we will be unstoppable on the field.
